Tuesday 26th July 2011 Dawlish, Teignmouth and Babbacombe

We intended to go to Teignmouth, but passed by to have a look at Dawlish, which worked out very nicely!Dawlish has a river running through the middle of the town over 13 cascades, and it s picturesque!
Here is a view looking upriver.
There are lots of flowers in well cared for beds
A railway crosses the road, but by passing underneath the arches you can reach the beach.
Here is the view in the other direction
There were some elegant black swans on the river
and colourful ducks too!
We had a rather nice roast pork lunch then carried on to Teigmouth, but soon discovered that all the parking places were full, but we did get a couple of views from across the river
Aand here is a view of the pier
then we continued to a place of happy memories, Babbacombe Bay. The hill down to the beach was as hairy as we remembered, it being a 1 in 3 with hairpin bends, and the bay itself worth seeing
Isn't it a great little spot? after this we were ready to return to camp, a great day out!
