Wednesday 18th May Launderette day and an evening tour

The weather forecast for the day was for fog and rain so we decided to go into Penzance to the launderette, and have lunch there, and see how the day panned out after that.
After sorting out the washing we snoozed away the afternoon and were very pleased when the weather relented and the sun came out again, so we had an early tea and drove to St Ives to have a tour along the top coast in the direction of Lands End.
Just after Zennor we came to this iconic Engine House and chimney from the days of the Cornish tin mines.
And a few miles down the road is the village of Pendeen, this view from the cliffs near the lighthouse is looking in the direction of Lands End
At the end of the headland is the "Pendeen Watch" lighthouse
Here is the view of the lighthouse from the other side.
You can see the chimneys of the old tin mines looking in the general direction of Lands End
Rejoining the Lands End road we continued past Sennen and Lands end to take the Porthcurno road, turning off to drop down the very steep and narrow (and scenic) road to the tiny cove of Porthgwarra. There is a car park a couple of houses and a single steep slip down to the beach
This tiny little bay is split by a little headland, this is the view from the top
And from the same spot looking down onto the slipway and the beach
And then to our final spot for the evening, the heights over the Minack Theatre, looking down onto the beautiful Porthcurno Bay.
After a wet start it turned out to be a good day in the end!
