May 12th 2012:Llandudno

What a pleasant change! a bright sunny morning, after a pleasant drive across the island and along the shore rode we found the perfect place to park in LLandudno, at the Victoria shopping centre, and it was cheap too
Only a minutes walk took us onto the main street,as you can see, the place is very open with large victorian hotels and all under the loom of the Great Orme
We had muffled up against the wind, which was cool along the prom but we found that at least the first half mile of the pier was sheltered by the mass of the Great Orme. This is the start of the pier
We were surprised how warm it was at this point, sheltered and very pleasant.
It became a little windier and cooler as we continued
Good to see that the little businesses were still doing a steady trade
As we approached the end of the pier we could hear the 1960's records still being played!
And the odd fisherman was still at the end of the pier
And we found a good and cheap cafe not far from the car park, which turned out to cost only £1 much to our surprise! After tea we dropped down into Amwllch to have a short walk on the harbour
A very pleasant way to round off a nice sunny day!
