Bank holiday weekend,so we're of to the coast...Yesterday I did quite a few macro shots in the garden on both the Nikon and theFuji S9600 bridge camera, it was interesting to see the differences, the Nikon is sharper, but the fuji much more convenient as with having live view plus the hingeing screen. low viewpoints are dead easy, and important advantages when you want to shoot insects on flowers in the lawn!
The bridge camera's level of detail is virtually as good, especially when you consider these shots were taken a 400 ASA .

Depth of field is better too on the bridge camera, an important advantage when working up close to small subjects.
Incidentally yesterday the shot of the Blowfly scored 15 votes on Ephotozine...
We managed to get away quite early and arrived at our campsite just after lunch, in what for us is unusual weather ie: it's not raining! And even more remarkably, it's quite warm!
